Most of those shows are faked. Ghost Hunters however is one of the few that isn't.

    That's an actual picture!

Do any members here have pics or video or audio that seems weird? I may link to some MP3s of EVPs just to let people here real ones.
A couple years ago my girl and I took a road trip. We just packed up the jeep and took a map and hit the road. After several days camping, we ended up in Gettysburg. We got a hotel and decided to explore some history. We were coming out of a bar and there were a group of people getting ready to go on a "ghost walk". We decided to join them. Armed with our digital camera, we headed off. We didn't think we would see anything and neither of us really seriously believed in ghosts. I kind of do because of some strange incidents... but that is for another time.

We go to many supposedly haunted places and we are being told these horrible war stories. We were told of people dying left and right all over the town, rape and abuse of the civilians, even abuse at an orphanage and supposed dungens in the orphanage. I took hundreds of pictures that night just like I always do.

Once we got back, we hit the bar for a little bit longer and decided to head back to our hotel. I loaded the pictures on the laptop to clear the memory card to make room for the next days pictures. I was amazed to see so many spooky pictures.

I had pictures like you linked to above. I had "orbs", I even had some weird faces in windows of some old schoolhouse that was used as a makeshift hospital during the war.

The next day ran into the guy who did the ghost walking tour. I told him what I had captured and he informed me that many others on our tour also captured stuff on their camera. He said it happens quite often because gettysburg is haunted day and night.

Fascinating place and lots of ghost hunters there. If you ever get the opportunity, visit there. It makes for some pretty interesting entertainment.

I still have all the pictures if you want to check them out. Gore, I thought I already showed you some of them? Mabye that was moxnix...

One more story: On the aformentioned trip, we visited my girl's grandfather in Pittsburgh. Her grandmother had passed, but he told of stories where he thought she was still around. Items being moved or put out in place so he would see them. He has a great memory and is not going crazy. We thought we was joking and just said he was silly. He didn't say much more about it.

Before we left, we headed out back to take some pictures with him. I took several pictures of him and her together standing together. Once we got an opportunity to check out the pictures, we saw a glow near the two of them. We think it was her deceased grandmother next to her.

Fast forward to this year. It had been a couple of years since we visited him. We decided to take a trip up there. It was four of us. Her, her brother, her neice and me. We brought air mattresses to stay there so we could cut costs of a hotel.

Once we get ready for bed, my girl says she feels funny about stying there and feels cold in places that are not near the windows. She can't sleep right away and decides to watch some TV. Everyone passes out. I wake up to her calling me into the other room. She is freaking out and crying. She NEVER cries and I've never seen her like this. She tells me that the TV flickered and the door to the room she was in suddenly slammed closed. She thought it was me but came out and I was sleeping. So was everyone else. She was in tears all night and freaked out. I suggested that she talk to her grandmother if she thought she was there. To tell her that she knows that she is there and to not try to scare her. I had to stay up with her all night. She was worried that I thought she was crazy. I had no reason to think that she'd be making anything like that up. She isn't a prankster and never acts the way she did that night. Needless to say, we didn't stay there the second night...

Phish, you told me that second to to last one about the first road trip, and it's still amazing I think.

Ever use a digital recorder or tape recorder and walk around asking questions? If you do go back up there sometime soon, remember a tape recorder or some type of audio recording and just walk around asking questions.

If you wait a few seconds between questions and play it back you may find a few EVPs.

As I pointed out earlier there is one member here that if I ever visit I won't be able to sleep in their house. They have captured EVPs and it would be nice if they'd get in this thread as they actually live in a very historic and haunted part of America.

My Fiancee is interested in this too, and when I started showing Her DVDs of the show Ghost Hunters which teaches you some basics of investigations and what equipment you can use, She was like totally into the idea so we may take a little trip around Montreal, like some of the old old Churches here and see if we can get permission to come in for a night like fror an hour or two.

Hopefully I won't cry like a little girl, but like any manly man I told Her straight up "I'm scared shitless of this type of thing and if I run keep up!" lol.

Nothing to do with the paranormal, but I can certainly relate to Negative's comments on photography.

I would comment that you get two influencing factors, particularly with small, automatic digital cameras.

Firstly, with a low shutter speed things get blurred and point sources of light will tend to "string". The second factor is that in low light conditions, the aperture opens fully.

Depending on the angle at which the light enters the lens, you can get reflections from the surfaces of the internal lens elements. This will typically show up as an "orb" and, given a bit of camera shake due to the slow shutter speed, this is frequently blurred enough to hide the outline of the shutter.

If you look in a professional photographer's kit you will see a number of lenshoods, that are designed to help avoid this effect.

Faces in windows? well I have seen plenty of those in photographs........ glass reflects, particularly if it is dark behind it

As with the others that have posted here, I find this topic to be very interesting. I have not had any experiences with "ghosts" per se but I have had many experiences with "shadow beings" and other paranormal anomalies.

The one that sticks in my head the most has to be the experience I had in an apartment that I lived in with my best friend and his wife. We were setting in the living room one night and watching TV when all three of use saw a dark shadow move through the kitchen and in to the pantry. We thought at first that it may be a shadow from someone outside but there are only two windows that had any access to the kitchen. Both of them had the blinds and curtains closed because it was night time and we don't like people being able to see in to the house. It was a very distinct male figure and no sounds were made and nothing was found to indicate that someone else was in the house. To this day, even while typing this article, I get goose bumps when thinking about it.

This same apartment has been the subject of many other sightings, like strange flashes of light from many of the rooms and strange noises that couldn't be explained. I have even had many experiences with energy vortexes there. Many times during the day and at night I had experienced a pulling sensation that felt like the feeling you get when you take a vacuum and stick it close to your skin. It felt exactly like every part of my body was being pulled towards the center of the room I was in. This always happened in my bedroom either while I was playing on my computer or while I was laying in bed at night sleeping. It was such a strong sensation that it would wake me up.

The only other notable experiences I have had have been ones that my friends have experienced while I was around. Everyone that knows me will tell you that I have something following me around as they have seen it. It appears as a male "shadow person" that usually paces or stands around behind me. I am not sure why it follows me or what it is but it appears even in places that have never had any paranormal experiences or around people that have never had paranormal experiences before. Each time it appears I get a chill down my spine and a slight case of the goose bumps. I've never had any problems with it and it has never harmed anyone or anything around me. Even my dog has had odd experiences with it and will jump up and run behind me barking at what appears to be nothing at all.

I've always been a believer but, just like my faith in the "creator", I am still skeptical about what these experiences may be and until undeniable proof can be given I will continue to keep an open and analytical mind.

As for ghost hunters, I have watched all episodes of their first two seasons and at first I was intrigued by the show but after careful consideration and analysis of the show it appears to me that they are legitimate paranormal investigators but the show itself is just that, a show. Sure, they try their best to keep it all real and scientific but discovery channel has done their normal thing and the show has WAY too many inconsistencies in it that are there for show. Many times they found "proof" that a place is haunted but, even without being a professional paranormal investigator, I could easily disprove that the evidence they found was misinterpreted or faked. Either way, the show does make for some good entertainment and has its educational value as well.

Well, that's my two cents on this topic and hope others share their experiences and it is always an interesting read.

Raisor, For the show Ghost Hunters, yes, they do have to try for ratings so sometimes they overstate things that turn into nothing, but the redeeming quality is at the end the two main guys usually point that out or you find out during the show.

some people don't like the show, which, hey some people just don't like certain shows, I hate Prison Break, doesn't mean I'm not interested in breaking out of a jail or how people do it, but you can see what I mean I think.

The show is actually good and the teams are actual investigators, they had TAPS waaaayyyyyyyy before a show was there. Actually if you have the first season DVDs, or feel like looking on youtube.com you can probably find on there, or you can find on DVDs, the interview about what they do.

It's only like 5 minutes long but it talked about the history and things like that, like how they really didn't even want a show based on them, but they were tired of people going on TV making a mockery out of the field for money so they were pretty much like hey if it's going to be on TV it may as well be one that teaches people and tries to actually show that people who do this aren't a bunch of "Oh look it must be a haunted Church because that window opened".

When they investigated the Stanley Hotel, the base for The Shining, I was like wetting myself. That was awesome.

Also the LightHouse in Florida, which I'm sure you know what I mean, that was REALLY impressive heh.

    Anyway, gute nacht !

    Moo, Zombies are real
I totally believe in Zombies. My ex-wife was one, I swear it.

I have been in the Stanly hotel. In fact you can stay there. I don't know if it the inflence from the movie or something else but that place has some energy in it. The second you walk up to it you'll be wetting yourself. Let alone get in the lobby or elevator.

Dear God.... You stayed there and didn't tell me???? Oh man, just the fact that The Shining was thought up there....

Actually if you watch The Shining and then listen to the reported activity they co-incide. Little kids running around the halls (The little girls are in the movie in the halls) a ball rolling around (The little kid sees a ball roll towards him in the movie) and just basically you can almost check off a list of what's in the Shining compared to what people ahve reported at the Hotel.

Man I can't beleive you were actually there though, that had to be something special. Did anything odd happen at all? When TAPS went there the first time the lead investigator and founder was asleep and his door opened and closed twice in the night which was caught on camera, and then a glass on the table next to his bed shattered which is also on camera.

They went there again just last Halloween for a second one which was live, and they caught voices and other things.

I stayed there during the Irish/Scottish Highland games. Nothing happened as I promptly passed out.... but I did do a little exploring. I want to go back and will. You could feel something and I don't even believe in that stuff. If you ever go, go during the games that is fun ****.
