Also some of the quirks with the Dell PCs we have is that they will not normally have a problem recognizing PS2 mice, but sometimes(a lot actually) a USB mouse/keyboard will not be recognized unless it is plugged into the same USB port that a previous device was. Only on some models.
Thanks Nihil for the serial mouse idea, I have to hunt one down now.
