    It was a European pigeon. Pigeon racing is a big thing over here, particularly in my part of the UK, and the Brits spread the sport all over the Empire back in the day. Actually they are not true pigeons; they are domesticated rock doves.

    The French have the record for the most highly decorated pigeon though........... one of theirs was awarded the Croix de Guerre.

    He saved 200 New Yorkers from "friendly fire"......................he was on loan from the French Army.

    Someone on Slashdot made a good point... The carrier pigeon is only half-duplex...


    Not only that; it doesn't have a DNS server.....

    I plan to do something like that here ..
    You will have to train those ducks that can fly at 26,000ft to get over the Himalayas...............Peking Duck?.............ooops!
