abrogard is an unknown quantity at this point
maximum logged on user only 10!!!

I am a client on a small win2000 lan here in china and net config server reports maximum logged on users as 10.

When I showed this to the (chinese) lan manager he was very surprised and wants to know why and wants to change it - he will shortly need more users.

I don't really know but I think it is his user license with his copy of Win2000 server, is it?

How can I show him this (if that's what it is) on his machine, which is in Chinese ?

What must he do to increase the number?

regards, abrogard

It definately sounds like its a License issue. I think the standard version of W2k Server allows ten seats. If you want to find out how many seats you have, check the information that came with the W2k Server disk, it should have information about your license. The only way to legally increase your number of seats would be to purchase more from Microsoft.

Yes, I think so..

I wonder if anyone knows where on the Win2k server we can find the place where it tells him this?

I imagine it is in Control Panel somewhere but his machine being all in Chinese and my machine not being server I can't find it for him.

He's not sure my dos 'net config server' command has anything to do with reality.
