ISP server
I was wondering if there was any way for me to find out whether my ISP was using a unix flavour or not. (And no, I am not an idiot who can't spell flavour, I am canadian, we spell it different) I called them asking if they provided shells or not, the guys did not know what I was talking about, he started talking about other stuff, which makes me think that maybe they don't have shell accounts to provide, is there any way to check? Or if any of you guys knows whether or not shaw.ca provides shell, plz tell me.

shaw.ca does not run on a unix based server. it is all windowze. if you would like a shell i would advise looking one up on the internet to purchase. that you can telnet into or. install linux/unix etc so on and so forth.
hope that helps ya
