I don't really like getting into these religion discussions, but...Did you notice that there was only a couple of small paragraphs in the entire article that talked about why the riots were taking place to start with? Because innocent Hindu's were killed on a train. It doesn't even tell much about the attack that happened to them.
That is one of the biggest problems with media. It is alwasy one sided. The Pakastani Observer (Muslim Bassed) doesn't talk much about the reason for the attacks. Its the same way with media over here. The media portraid Mitnik as being as bad as a killer. He wasn't innocent, but he wasn't as bad as he was made out to be.
Trust only 1/2 of what you read, because 1/2 of the truth is somewhere else.
I have never understood why people must turn love of god to violence against there fellow man...is that really what the Supreme Being (whoever or whatever he/she/it maybe) intended?

We are all human, however flawed that might be. This was an act of revenge similar to many other acts throughout history. Through personal experience I have found that even revenge can not end my pain. It continues forever. Death brings about no pleasure and hope dies also. Nothing will bring about true vengeance and revenge will take you, as it did me, into a neverending downward spiral.

This whole thing started thanks to the muslims, if they hadn't attacked the train then this wouldn't be happening now.

the mosque issue is just partial, the muslims claim the hindus were stealing from their shops at the train station and refusing to pay. Is that a reason for 2000 people to light a train on fire? and who ever was bitching to me about giving them 'negative antipoints', let it be known that i never get any point for any reason.
The hindus and sikhs in america have a reputation for being greedy, deceptive, and dishonest. I wouldn't doubt for one second that they are the same over there.

Jcmcb has something here. I'm afraid a lot of evil has been done in the name of religion. And it's surely not what God has intended. I'm also afraid that God gets the blame for what people do. People, please don't confuse God with the actions of people. I don't think God told the Crusaders to go to the Holy Land and kill Muslims. I don't think God told the Church to hold the Inquisition and to torture its enemies. And I'm very sure God didn't tell the terrorists to hijack jetliners and crash them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. As a matter of fact, the Bible tells us that God's Son, Jesus Christ suffered at the hands of religion. Who was responsible for having Jesus tortured and nailed to the cross? Prostitutes and adulterers? No, the religious authorities were responsible. Pick up a copy of the Bible and read the story yourself (Matthew 26:1-27:54). I like that preacher brought up love...because God is love.
At the same time, Islam was a descendant of Ishmael..Abraham's first child with Hagar. I encourage everyone to read Gen 16:9 for the prophesy on Ishmael and his descendants...you'll notice it's still quite tru today. I don't have anything for or against Islam, but it just seems way too angry for me. I have read the Coran, and it seems they teach people to believe in Allah out of fear, that's where I disagree with the religion....because the Bible says "perfect love casteth out all fear".
Look, I'm an Indian and a Hindu and I do think that what happened was terrible. But is that a reason to blame all Muslims. It's what people have been doing to hackers for years. Just because there were a few crackers who went around claiming to be hackers, it doesn't mean that all hackers are bad does it? The *******s who did it should be strung up upside down by their balls, but that doesn't mean that all Muslims are bad. Some of my best friends happen to be Muslims, and they are by no means the kind of people to set a train on fire. Do you think there aren't Hindu or Christian or Jewish militants? I really don't believe that a person is bad or even more likely to be bad just because of his/her religion. I also think that everyone who has made an anti-Islam or anti-Hindu or anti-religion comment should seriously think about what they are implying. I've posted to this thread only because I feel very strongly about this issue (as you can see), otherwise I would have ignored a thread of this sort. I personally don't believe in God for this very reason, there's too much violence carried out in God's name. I'm starting a new thread to explain to everyone who doesn't know the background of this violence. Look for it.

I think it's obvious what's going on
here.
The five points of Calvinism:
1. Total Depravity. Man is a wicked vicious being.
There is NOTHING good in any man.
2. Unconditional election. God, and God alone
will decide who will be the chosen favored ones.
If he decides to have mercy on some, or none,
that's His business. See point 1 above.
3. Limited atonement. The blood of the son of
God was shed as a sacrifice to pay for sin.
He didn't waste his blood on those who
are not chosen. See point 2 above.
4. Irresistable grace. If He has your number,
you may as well surrender, because no matter how
bad you are (point 1), he chose you (point 2)
died for you (point 3). That's why gospel
means "good news".
5. Perseverence of the saints. If all this is so,
(review first 4 points), then you have assurance
to persevsere to the end.
If you think the "hell on earth" that you see today is bad,
wait until you see the real thing.

i won't get into pointing the finger, or sticking it up! people need to realize the beauty in diversity, first. second, people of God need to see that if they kill and wage war against others, then they are no better than a petty murderer. one side needs to be the "bigger man" and say "enough!". remember that a cycle, especially one of violence and hate is very hard to break, so efforts need to start now. it is sad that all this is happening, and worse, many views are bias.

Listen here Bimmer, there is no war against the islam but a war against the so called "non believers" who are all the worlds population that does not believe in the Islam.
We Christians weren't all that nice during the crusades back a century ago but at least we grew up and stopped this nonsense. Only the Islam refuses to do so, look at Iran, I read in the paper this morning that the country is allmost entirley depressed because they can't do anything. No dancing no music no nothing. And the women stil walk around like mobile tents.
