SMS interface
Not sure where to post this, but there is always someone who knows **** on this site
I want to build or get an SMS interface for a pc that will take scripts from a webserver and sms them to registered users. Much like an offline IM service would offer, but I have no idea how they do it.
I have a cellular modem (bb 7100) but have no clue where to start.
Any ideas?

Well, you'll need at least two things.
1. SMS Gateway
2. some way to send it. A server side app or script, etc.
Were you looking for an open source solution?

Maybe a php script to send?

Maybe a perl script?

You really didn't give us enough info. What kind of webserver? What platform? What scripting languages? Did you want to run your own SMS gateway or use someone elses? etc.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

I would prefer to run my own sms gateway with a celular modem. Platform isnt an issue as i can support most. Scripting language would be php preferred, but can also accomodate perl/cgi.
Essentially, I have a webserver and a cellular modem, I want the webserver to be able to take an input similar to the script you provided here and use the cellular modem to initiate the sms.
