well, as far as i am concerned, i doesnt make a real big difference which one you pick, all parts come from the same factory, both get around the same amount gas mileage, body styles are similar to one point or another. it all just depends on what ur looking for i guess. Personally i like toyota *plz forgive me grampa, fanatical patriot* they seem to last quite long, and if you can find a nice one, that isn't beat on, are not too expensive and are just all around a better car in my opinion.
How do you figure they get their parts from the same factory? Now if the question was Lexus or Toyota, I could see your argument (even Honda v. Acura or Nissan v. Infinity). Nissan and Toyota do not share parts at all. Also, Toyota and Honda are styled similarly, but Nissan has gone a complete different route with the new Altima.

As for my choice, I pick Nissan (I also have a 97 Altima). Toyota has a better resale value, and the styling is perfect for people over 50 (if they like extremely bland cars), but they have no passion. A Nissan will last just as long as a Toyota (or Honda) but prices tend to start lower and Nissan packs more horsepower in the base model than either Honda or Toyota.
