    In my knowledge "Whatis" command just tells what the command does in just one line.
    For example if u do "$whatis vim" then it will tell u what is vim and it will tell different types of vim editors.
    Twister... will destroy.... everything

    whois, whatis, whereis. They can be very handy indeed. I know that they are not default unix commands, and that they have come to life in linux. I do use them once in a while, since they save me alot of time looking for certain applications or paths.
